Pope John Paul II will be beatified on May 1, 2011. The announcement of the Vatican spokesman, Father Federico Lombardi, who has thus put to rest any rumours that  were running for days on the possible dates of the beatification. The ceremony will take place in St. Peter’s Square and already a huge crowd is expected. Benedict XVI has therefore signed the decree confirming the miracle cure of a French nun suffering from Parkinson’s, just six years after the death of the Polish pope, fulfilling the desire of the crowd, since the day of the funeral cheered him, shouting: Holy immediately. Meanwhile, in St. Peter’s Basilica began work on the transfer of the body of John Paul II from Vatican grottoes in a tomb that will be embedded in the altars of the basilica.
